politics ... i hate it !
If you know me you know I have a lot against politicians... and that I have a lot against religion as well... Today these two got together to make me loose my temper.
There is a need in Ashkelon, a city near Tel Aviv, to build a new department building for the emergency room of Barzilai Hospital. The construction already in process but sadly, some graves were found and everything stopped.
You cant build on or destroy the graves since religious reasons forbid such action. The sacred of the living is being used in political games which will cost 130 millions shekels more which no one knows where that will come from...
130 millions cause of few graves. I call it ridiculous !!!
ministers should be professionals. They should be appointed after their actions and previous jobs showed they can improve the current situation. Until that happen, Barzilai Hospital will not be the only case. And that is Sad.

Admiration
I have been reading today about Mark Boyle. Mark worked as a manager of two organic companies and tried to change the world, change people's mind to live better and keep it clean.
After got his inspiration from Ghandi few years ago, got tired and had enough with the way he lives his life, Mark decided to quit his way of living and live as he wants to live, how he sees the people in the world should live.
He bought a solar panel, got a free caravan from a website where people gives their unwanted stuff for free and start leaving his life. Mark lives in a farm for their support of place to park his caravan and use a WiFi internet connection. He grow his own food, sometimes goes and fetch food in the garbage and pick berries in the forest.
During the last 16 months mark didn't spent 1 cent on anything. His ideology is that the whole consumption culture is just wrong. People throw away food without thinking about their actions and their meaning. "If they would grow their food they wouldn't be throwing 1/3 of it daily".
I don't agree with all what Mark is thinking and believe at though i do think that sometimes the connection of the modern world with the real world is too loose. I have to admit that I admire Mark's decision to do what he believes right.
I don't believe the modern world is wrong. I do believe that the people's education and understanding is wrong that they do not understand how their lives influencing others in places that they don't even know they exist.
Modernization is not bad. Less people found their death in earlier stage of life and had the ability to spent time with their grand kids or great grand kids even. They had a better way of living and could see and explore the world and its magic.
Modernization is not bad. Some of us just lost our orientation and hopefully actions as Mark's will lead us to a better world.

Israeli Politics
I wanted to talk about something else today though after reading some news today I decided to talk about Israel. Israel is complicated country. As a country of refugees, Israel has many different type of people. Too many opinions about how Israel should be and act like.
As I mentioned I have read few articles which published in a newspaper by different community leaders. They were all discussed about the so called Apartheid Week (March 1-13). 2010 will be the 6th year of the Israeli Apartheid week. The organizers promote boycott on Israel and try to get global movement.
It's of course unnecessary to say that comparing South African Apartheid regime to the conditions and situation of Israeli Arabs and even Palestinians is quite impossible.
Apartheid means the prohibition of participation in the general election, studying in the universities, getting treatment in hospitals and separation of settlements. When this is being compared to how Israeli Arabs living in Israel, it's far from being anything close.
Israeli Arabs vote and have representation in the Israeli Parliament (The Knesset) while even ministers. There is an Israeli Arab judge working at The Supreme Court of Justice and Israeli Arabs can study in any university they would like to which they do and of course there are mixed cities where Israeli Jews lives in neighborhoods along Israeli Arabs such Haifa, Jaffa, Ramle and Jerusalem.
Palestinians forget that their biggest mistake was made back in 1947 when Israel was approved by the UN and established as a state. The Palestinians and Arab nations didn't like that outcome and decided to kill all Israel and expel them into the sea. That action lead to the Israeli independence war and to what will lead to the Palestinians occupation.
Most Israelis do not want the West Bank and Gaza as part of Israel. They do not want to control no one and they certainly do not want to see their children fighting and dieing in battles.
It is sad that who ever form these boycotts and demonstrations tries to avoid the real issues and use the people as a political tool in order to bring more and more hate which will lead to more and more chaos.
